Grace Carter Gets Real In “Silence” Video

“If you want to say something/ silence don’t mean nothing.”

19-year-old singer Grace Carter is from Brighton, England and already has a focused approach to her music that her more-experienced peers should be envious of. On "Silence," a sparse track off her forthcoming debut album, she sings over drums and a piano with lots of raw energy. And in the video for the song, which is premiering on The FADER today, Carter stands firm in a black coat and delivers an incredibly emotional performance.

In an email to The FADER, Carter broke down the song's backstory. "It's a song about frustration," she said. "When someone's saying all these things to you that have no substance, you just want them to finally be honest with you. You want to say, 'Look me in the eye and tell me the truth.'"

Drake and H.E.R. sing a duet in this inventive fan-made “Jungle” remix

Two versions of the 2015 track run simultaneously, and sing to each other.

Drake's "Jungle" appeared on his 2015 project If You're Reading This It's Too Late, and was covered in 2016 by shadowy R&B artist H.E.R. The two versions are now meeting in the same song, thanks to YouTube user Mad3byJ. Drake's version goes in the left channel and H.E.R.'s in the right, and are played in sync for a duet that's unique, if a little bit vertigo-inducing (Mad3byJ recommends headphones to listen).

Haven't heard of H.E.R? Better get familiar: she was one of Missy Elliot's favorite artists last year.
